Those of you who know me, know that I am a firm believer in journaling for just about anything. So here’s a great way to help you stay positive!
One thing that has helped me stay focused on being positive is writing down three things at the end of my day, or anytime I feel a little out of sorts or need a boost. I answer these questions: Read the rest of this entry »
Awareness eating
Follow four simple steps to better health and weight loss.
The fourth and final part of our detox series has little to do with what you are eating, but rather focuses on how you are eating. When practiced, certain food behaviours can have dramatic positive effects on weight loss, digestion and overall health. Simply implement the recommendations below for a mere two weeks and you will make a positive difference on your health.
The food behaviours outlined below emphasize consciousness eating. Unfortunately, in today’s rushed and busy world, we have become accustomed to eating in a hurry and dining out on fast food. Read the rest of this entry »
Part 3: Moisturize
Smart eating choices can leave your skin looking great — and lower cholesterol and the risk of heart disease.
We have all heard the old adage, “you are what you eat.” With that in mind, I would like to expand on that adage to include, “you also look how you eat!” I have been lucky enough to witness the “before” and “after” changes that take place when people take charge and clean up their diet. When this happens, there is a certain “sparkle” and radiance that only comes from health and wellness.
With that in mind, part 3 of the springtime cleansing series focuses on moisturizing hair and skin naturally. Read the rest of this entry »
Part 2: Nourish
High quality, nutrient-dense foods are the keys to looking better and feeling great.
To continue the theme of springtime internal cleaning, the second part of our series focuses on nourishing from the inside out with high quality, nutrient-dense foods.
Although the latest diets and fads are constantly hitting the weight-loss market and causing some confusion about what and how to eat, there are four basic nutritional principles that need to be kept in mind in order to eat well, feel well and look your best.

- Your body requires all three macronutrients — carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
- You need to eat live to feel live.
- Water yourself down. Read the rest of this entry »
Spring is a great time for new beginnings and the perfect time to begin a detox plan. In this 4 part series we will discover the basics of how to cleanse, boost metabolism, optimize digestion, eat to lose weight and boost energy.
Part 1: Cleansing
People often ask about the benefits of fasting in order to improve their health and optimize digestion. For the majority of people this is generally not the best thing to do.
Most people do not have the proper blood sugar control to fast and end up feeling dizzy, hungry and may even find it difficult to participate in everyday activities. Read the rest of this entry »

Toxins are everywhere. They are in our air, in our water, in the materials that we use in everyday life and in our food. When toxins get into the cells of our bodies, there is increased potential of DNA manipulation and the creation of cancer cells. Cancer is not natural for the body, and if the mind and body have the proper tools, cancer can be stopped in its tracks.
When one is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness it gives a whole new perspective on life. You soon realize that the only thing that will save you is to take responsibility and do as much as you possibly can to help yourself. Read the rest of this entry »
Spring is almost here – you can feel it in the air already! However, some of us are still affected by the somewhat shorter days for at least another month.
I have noticed that these shorter days have not affected me as much this winter because of the rituals I have created in my days. Seasons, after all, show us that our lives are meant to contain dark times, light times, expansion, contraction, and of course… change!
If you have been experiencing anxiety or sadness this winter, I invite you to try one or two of these rituals. Maybe you’ll start to look forward to what remains of these earlier evenings as you see the mystery and magic of this beautiful season… Read the rest of this entry »
An interesting comparison between Water & Coke!
WATER
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population)
#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.
#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism by 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. Read the rest of this entry »
While we are a month and half into the new year, it’s never too late to take the opportunity to reflect on what we have accomplished in the last year. It’s a great time to review your prior year and establish your goals for the coming months. It can be a time to celebrate achievements, a time to recall special family memories, a time of remembering those who have passed on, or perhaps a time to feel badly about things we have said or done, or a trivial thing like all the sweets consumed over the holidays.
Right now is the perfect opportunity to look at your life, how you spend your time, and what you wish to really achieve. You are one of the few, if everything in your life is in alignment to create success – then kudos to you! Most of us however, have not set ourselves up for success, either through our time management, our environment or most importantly our mind set. Here are 3 great tips to get you started.
